Romain Maurice was born in Paris, France in 1978.
He started working as a traditional manual Black and White printer for Agence Opale in Paris, where he specialized in portraits of writers. At the same time, he worked as an assistant for photographers in Paris.
Passionate about skiing and surfing, Romain moved to Courchevel, St Tropez and St Barth to photograph people on their holidays. For 13 years he met people from all over the world and photographed a wide array of subjects—from families on vacation to heads of state and royalty. His best memory was meeting the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova.
Since 2014 Romain has established himself as a freelance photographer based in Miami Beach, shooting portraits, events, celebrities, artwork, architecture, breaking news stories and real estate.
Romain is a Getty Images contributor, and shoots concert, events, press conferences, celebrities and runway shows for the agency. He also contributes regularly to newspapers like the New York Post and The Sun. His photos are published all over the world and in some very famous publications like People, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Gala, Paris Match, and TMZ to name a few.
